# What is a Shipment Lifecycle?

Every shipment has a lifecycle that is detailed in the Shippabo platform. This ensures visibility and predictability by allowing users to know where in the shipping process a shipment is.

In short, the lifecycles of a shipment are as follows:

- Planning
- Request
- Proposal  
  - Expired
- Pending
- Booked
- Transiting  
  - Arriving  
  - Arriving Inland
- Delivered
- Completed

We also have a more comprehensive guide which provides a little more detail on each step of the lifecycle.

Lifecycle indicators can be found in individual shipments on the overview page, beneath the map.

If a shipment is cancelled at any point during the shipping process, it will be marked as **Cancelled**.
